France Visa Document Requirements

  • France visa application form: Duly fill out the online visa application for France with all correction details.
  • 2 Passport Size Photos: Furnish latest photographs that are not older than three months. It is important to ensure that you take the photos with a light backdrop so that all your facial features are properly displayed in the photograph.
  • Valid Passport: Furnish a passport that must be valid for a minimum of 3 months after leave from France or the Schengen area. Make sure that the passport that you have was issued to you within the last ten years.
  • UK Residence Permit: Submit a valid residence permit that certifies you to stay in the United Kingdom as a resident.

  • Travel Medical Insurance: You will need to get an end-to-end travel health insurance that covers the complete France and Schengen area visit. The Travel health insurance that you get must provide a minimum coverage of €30,000 and it should mandatorily cover medical emergencies.
  • Proof of accommodation: Provide an accommodation document that clearly states that you have made a reservation for a lodging such as a hotel, hostel, resort, campsite or types of accommodation. The proof of accommodation should clearly display the dates when you will stay in that particular accommodation and your name.
  • Proof of Travel: This proof of transportation document should mention that you have made a reservation for a train or a flight to go to and leave France after your trip. This paperwork should include dates of your travel, your name and other important details. If you are planning to go to France by car, you must carry your car registration documents, license, and other necessary documentation. If you intend to travel by ferry in France or the Schengen area, you may be asked to show copies of your ferry tickets. You also need to furnish a complete itinerary of your France visit that mentions which places you will visit or stay during your trip to France.
  • Proof of Sufficient Financial Means: A traveler to France will be required to furnish legitimate paperwork which will prove that they have enough funds in their bank account. These funds must adequately cover the travel and other expenses while they are visiting France or the Schengen area.
  • Cover Letter: Submit a cover letter that explicitly states the reason why you need a France visa to go to France to see it. This cover letter should include important details like the duration of your stay, date of departure from France to the UK and other information. If you are intending to visit your family then you’ll need to furnish a letter from the host or sponsor along with the copies of their passport and other necessary information with the France visa application (if necessary).
